Jewelry Instructor and Artists

Sophia began her artistic career at age 12 when she took a sculpture course with Morris Norvin at the MFA.  Following, she studied with Morris for seven years. She began an internship at Stonybrook Fine Arts, which soon lead to her assisting courses such as Ring Making.  She has now been teaching at Stonybrook Fine Arts for 6 years.  As a  result of her experiences, she has made metal works her full time career and is now a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 7. As the youngest artist/teacher here, she is a great example of Stonybrook’s inspiring dedication to nurturing gifted artists.  She is talented at welding, as well as, jewelry making processes.
